Mt Bethel Church GriefShare

If you are actively grieving the death of a significant person in your life, including the death of a spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, or friend, we would strongly encourage you to consider attending the 13 week GriefShare educational support group offered at Mt. Bethel UMC this Fall and Winter. It will be held weekly and begin on Wednesday evening, October 2, 2019, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. in room B116. Do plan to come and check it out! It is designed to offer assistance and support on your grief journey for anyone who is living in the area and obviously all who attend Mt. Bethel Church. You can come to as many meetings as you can make, or all of them if you are able. The facilitators were both widowed at mid-life and have also experienced the death of parents, siblings, and close friends. Beside the experiential piece they also have expertise in their professions. Dr. Susan Zonnebelt-Smeenge is a licensed clinical psychologist and R.N., and Dr. Bob DeVries is a pastor and seminary professor (emeritus). Together they have co-authored four books on aspects of grieving and one book on living fully after preparing for one's own death. They also participate in a number of the GriefShare DVD sessions featured as grief experts.

Additionally, Dr. Susan Zonnebelt-Smeenge, a fully licensed clinical psychologist, is available between October 3, 2019 and March 26, 2020 on Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to provide grief, loss, and dying psychotherapy including other individual or family concerns you might have. Her services are available to anyone from the community as well as Mt. Bethel church members. You can schedule an appointment or get more information by calling Susan at 616-780-1082.
