Bethesda Lutheran Church GriefShare

Our participants include those who've lost a spouse, child, parent, sibling, relative or friend; to disease, accident, gun-fire, alcohol/drugs, drowning, suicide, aging, suddent death, and prolonged suffering. Grief is individual - healing and hope have no schedule or timetable. Some of our participants are grieving a death from 4 to 10 years ago, even following remarriage.
The GriefShare series is designed so you can enter it at any time - as timing is critical - when you are ready you can join us. Most of our participants did not start with session one but somewhere during the 13-week series. They then complete the series when the next one begins. Some repeat the series 2 and 3 times.
You are encouraged but not expected to share. Typically people share more as they feel more comfortable and trust within the group. All comments are confidential to the group. Most find it a very safe place to share, cry, laugh, and vent, all of which take place every week. Our group leaders are experienced, understanding, and faithful guides for your healing and hope through God's mercy and grace.
We understand hesitation, so we encourage you to attend up to 3 sessions before you make a decision to continue or not. The $20 covers the cost of the workbook.
Please contact us ahead of time regarding child care and we will try to make it available. A small fee may be asked.
