You are so welcomed to attend Griefshare at SRBC! Led by Debra Fesmire and Sandra Jones who each lost her spouse under different circumstances, we facilitate the group in a Christian nondemonational 13-week program to help you as you grieve the loss of a loved one It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. You may have found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. You may feel isolated and confused and have questions about things you've never faced before. Rest assured, you will be among people who do understand and who care.
“Going to GriefShare feels like having warm arms wrapped around you when you’re shivering.” Each week we will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. After viewing the video, you and the other group members will spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in your lives. You are not pressured to speak but certainly are welcomed to.
During the week you will have the opportunity to use your workbook for further personal study of the grieving process and to help sort out your emotions through journaling. We will spend time discussing questions and comments from the workbook study.
GriefShare sessions are not sequential, so it is fine to join the group after the weekly sessions have started, You are welcomed at any time. And please be reminded GriefShare addresses the loss of loved ones through death and not because of divorce, job loss, estrangement of a child, loss of friends due to moving, etc. This grief is real, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions.
Our sessions will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and end promptly at 8 p.m. due to having to relieve security who are on patrol in the parking lot area.
