My name is Tom Durrant and I, and my co-facilitator, Miss Elaine Chan, will be hosting the upcoming Grief-Share group meetings at Highlands Community Church.
I lost my wife of 39 years in 2015, and about three months later, following the advice of several friends, I participated in a Grief-Share group. I didn’t know anyone in these meetings, but since we all were carrying a common burden of loosing a loved one, it was very easy to relate to each other. We had a shared knowledge of the struggles that had fallen upon us. Miss Elaine was widowed just over 10 years ago, and alone, she raised three young boys all the way to adulthood. We have both been deeply comforting through the Grief-Share course.
The Greif-Share course is not just for those who have lost a mate. Grief-Share is for anyone who has lost a loved one.
You should know that I am not an expert on this topic, but the videos and homework assignments, along with the discussion times; all served to help us to adjust to life without our loved ones by our side.
My desire is to provide a safe, understanding, and supportive environment for you as we explore the various facets about the promised comfort God has made to all who love Him.
