The GriefShare Boot Camp contains four dynamic training workshops. Each one strategically blends video, drama, discussion and group exercises to help you become a more effective GriefShare leader.

Each workshop focuses on a “building block,” These “blocks” represent the indispensable elements and practices of a successful GriefShare program. Here’s an overview of the concepts highlighted in each one.

Workshop 1

Foundation

The initial building block shows you how to skillfully lay a firm foundation for your GriefShare ministry.

Vision

The next building block answers the question, “Why is vision important in building an effective GriefShare ministry?” During this segment, you’ll also discover the four essential, and often overlooked, elements of vision.

Tools

The third building block covers GriefShare ministry tools. Participants will learn their vital importance and exactly how to use them.

Workshop 2

Before your GriefShare cycle begins

The fourth building block explains the strategic, pre-cycle practices of effective leaders. Topics discussed include publicity, logistics, protocol development and how to create a group setting that makes participants feel safe.

Workshop 3

During

What do effective leaders do during the 13-week GriefShare cycle? The material in this segment tells you. It also includes advice for planning a session agenda, determining what tools participants need, debriefing a leadership team and group-facilitating skills.

Between

During this segment, you’ll discover why the things you do on days between sessions are essential to the success of your ministry. You’ll also find out what key tasks leaders and participants need to complete between sessions.

After

What do you do after Session 13? Many leaders don’t realize that this is just as important as what you do during Sessions 1–13. This building block explains why.

Workshop 4

Challenges

This final building block explains how to respond to the most common challenges GriefShare leaders face. The challenges addressed include difficult personalities, participants stuck in grief, suicide, when to refer someone for professional help and much, much more.
