How GriefShare Works

Each GriefShare participant grows and heals by involvement in three key aspects of the program:

Video Seminar

Leader with group

GriefShare provides your church with materials to conduct a weekly seminar and support group. There are 13 video seminars on DVD, featuring top experts on grief recovery topics from a Christian perspective.

The GriefShare video seminars are produced in an interesting television magazine format and feature dramatic reenactments, on-location video and the real-life stories of people who have grieved the loss of a loved one. They feature interviews with trusted Christian experts, allowing you confidence that your GriefShare group is built on a biblical, Christ-centered foundation.

Support Group Discussion

After viewing each weekly video seminar, your GriefShare group will spend time discussing the video and talking about what is going on in each person’s life. GriefShare groups are designed to be led by lay leaders. We provide discussion questions, an extensive Leader’s Guide and video-based leader training for your lay leaders. In addition, GriefShare provides free ongoing support for your lay leadership team and training conferences for more intensive training.

Workbook-Based Personal Study and Reflection

During the week participants will have the opportunity to use their workbook for further personal study of the grieving process and to help sort through their emotions through questions, journaling, Scripture and prayers. During the group meeting, your group will spend time discussing questions and comments from the workbook study.

A Powerful, Effective Combination

Much healing can occur when these elements blend to form a GriefShare ministry in your church. You’ll create an atmosphere of care and concern with solid, reliable teaching. Your church can make a difference in the lives of people grieving the loss of someone close.
